Best Buy Canada Purchases First Intertain Retail Preview System
Winnipeg, MB – Intertain Media Inc., a division of OMT Inc.
(TSXV: OMT), today announced the purchase of Intertain’s next generation Retail Preview Solution by Best Buy Canada. Best Buy Canada currently operates 19 consumer electronic retail stores across Canada with plans to open an additional 10 – 14 stores by the end of 2004.
The Intertain Retail Preview System will be installed in the first Best Buy store in Calgary, Alberta in time for the stores June opening. Customers will be able to scan the barcode of a CD, DVD or Video Game at an Intertain preview station and listen
to the music or watch the video trailer prior to purchasing. |

The built-in recommendation features will encourage customers
to ‘Discover’ more entertainment products by searching for more
songs or movies by Artist, Actor, or Director to name a few of
the search criteria.
“We believe in the retail preview technology that Intertain offers and expect that our Best Buy customers will quickly see the convenience and value that these interactive kiosks offer,” says Bob Golden, Vice President of Store Development for Best Buy Canada Ltd., “We plan to continue the deployment of the Intertain solution across the Best Buy chain with a second store already planned for July.”
