The company first began operation in 1968 as a distributor of high quality broadcast equipment including radio consoles, audio switchers, and speakers. Over the years, the company gained industry credibility and experience through its own production studio operation and radio station. These broadcast experiences opened the door to servicing the broadcast industry through an expanded suite of products.

In 1995, OMT evolved into a technology company and began to develop its own radio station suite of software, iMediaTouch and iMediaLogger. Since then, OMT has continued to revolutionize the broadcast industry by launching innovative technologies such as the first software-based audio encoding solution. Both traditional radio station broadcasters and non-traditional broadcasters use iMediaTouch to manage and deliver programming content to over 40 million listeners around the world.

OMT Inc. is a publicly listed company on the TSX Venture exchange under the symbol OMT. The company is solidly backed by two institutional investors, GrowthWorks Canadian Fund Ltd. and Renaissance Capital Manitoba Ventures Fund.
