The OMT Board of Directors includes individuals who bring strong backgrounds in financial, strategic management, and broadcast industry experience. Brief biographies of the board members are provided below.

Bill Baines, BSc, MBA, P.Eng– Executive Chairman, President and CEO
In addition to his executive leadership of OMT, Mr. Baines is currently the President & CEO of AML Wireless Networks Inc.  Prior to this role, Mr. Baines has led in the success of several technology based service organizations including as President & COO of MTS Communications Inc. (Manitoba Telecom Services), President & COO of Norigen Communications Inc. and previous roles with Unitel Communications and Bell Canada.  Mr. Baines holds a BSc in Engineering from the University of Waterloo, and an MBA from the University of Toronto’s Executive Program.  Mr. Baines currently is a member of the Boards of The Manitoba Museum, The Associates (University of Manitoba – Asper School), and Thunder Bay Telecom (TBayTel). Past community involvement includes the United Way Cabinet (London and Winnipeg), member of the Board of Winnipeg SmartCentre, various community focused organizations and several community based sports programs.

Rick Workman, B.Sc
Rick Workman has over 40 years of experience in the Information Technology industry, during which time he has held numerous positions within IBM Canada including GM of IBM Calgary, GM of IBM Petroleum Industry, GM of IBM Manitoba and VP of ISM Manitoba.  After retiring from IBM, Rick assumed the leadership role of Chief Operating Officer of Momentum Healthware from 2000 - 2004, a software company specializing in financial systems and electronic medical records for the health industry. In 2004, Rick formed his own consulting company focused on management, sales and marketing consulting in the Information Technology Industry.  Rick has an engineering degree from the University of Manitoba.  He has served on a number of private company and not for profit boards including Custom Software Solutions Inc., Destination Winnipeg, The Manitoba Theater Centre, The University of Manitoba’s Asper School Associates, Linnet Systems and the Fred Douglas Society.

Harold Heide, B.Comm (Hons.)
Vice President – Investments, GrowthWorks Canadian Fund Ltd.

Harold Heide has over 26 years experience in financial and operational management positions. Between 1996 and March, 2000, the date upon which Mr. Heide joined the ENSIS Growth Fund, Mr. Heide served as the Director, Risk Management with the Manitoba Capital Fund Limited Partnership which provided mezzanine financing to both small and mid-sized businesses in Manitoba. He has held previous financial management positions with Monsanto Canada and Canadian Pacific, and was a licensed investment executive with the former Midland Doherty. Mr. Heide is a graduate of the University of Manitoba.

Murray Bamforth, BComm (Honours), CA
Mr. Bamforth has over 30 years experience as a senior financial executive and external auditor. He is currently the President of his own management consulting practice.  Previously,  for over 17 years, Mr. Bamforth held various senior positions with Manitoba Telecom Services Inc. and their subsidiaries Bell West Inc. and Allstream Inc. Prior to joining MTS, he held positions of Treasurer and Controller at St. Boniface General Hospital and was an external audit manager for several years with Touche Ross & Co. (now Deloitte & Touche).  Mr. Bamforth holds a Bachelor of Commerce (honours) degree from the University of Manitoba. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Manitoba, and has served on  various Institute committees, as well as, actively participated on charitable and other organization boards and committees.
